History
The Lady 76ers Club Basketball Program was started in 1998 in
Augusta, GA under the direction of Kelvin Powell, Kenneth Griffin
and Charles (Chuck) Graham with a mission to provide the Augusta
area youth with an avenue for advanced educational opportunities
through athletics. During the 2001season, the Lady 76ers were
recognized as one of the up and coming programs in the country by
NIKE Grassroots Basketball. The following year the Lady 76ers signed
a multi-year contract with the world's leader in sports related
apparel and footwear. The growth of the program includes expanded
participation throughout Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.
The Lady 76ers are the only NIKE sponsored program in the Carolinas.
In the winter of 2006, the Lady 76ers transitioned to new leadership
under the direction of long-time supporters Chris Stacey ( Savannah,
GA) and Sandra Dickerson (Columbia, SC).
These new announcements ensure that the Lady 76ers will continue to
provide outstanding opportunities for the youth of Georgia and the
Carolinas.
